The "Next Match" section on the right says it all. Season 2010 has drawn to an end for all Figtree FC teams. All thats left is the IAFA Presentation Night on October 9th at the Fraternity Club. This could be a huge night as it will be the last before unification takes place and the IAFA becomes defunct. More details to come. Apparently there is word of a social "end of season" day at HGP. Nothing spectacular just a BBQ for all 3 teams with a bit of light hearted football thrown in. Beers aplenty of course. As above, more details to come. |

This weekend sees what will most likely be the final match for all Figtree FC teams. It would be nice to see the majorty of players come/stay back at HGP for a few beers in the afternoon sun and then head on over to the Wollongong RSL Bowling Club. For those that don't realise, they are our sponsor. They are also located next to Westfield, well within walking distance. |

The Cancer Council - "Call to Arms" |
|
|
|
|
Since Cancer Council launched ‘Call To Arms’ in 2007 it has grown into a national fundraising event, helping to tackle men’s cancers. Clubs from all sporting codes take part to raise money and awareness for men’s cancers by wearing yellow armbands and taking contributions during a match of their choice. You can help support by making a secure online contribution using your credit card. Click on the link below: http://nsw.cancercouncilfundraising.org.au/personalPage.aspx?SID=286425 On July 17th, Figtree FC Fire will be playing Kemblawarra at home. We will be wearing our yellow arm bands and donations can be made on that day should you prefer not to use your credit card. For more information visit the Cancer Council hompage http://www.calltoarms.com.au/ |

Old Man Webby turns 70 this Wednesday (Yes he is still playing, begrudgingly in the Masters Division 2). All he really wanted was a night game of football. Amazingly, he couldn't tweak the draw in his favour so we are opting for the next best thing. A "private" game between old opponents & teammates, the majority of which are still plying their trade within the amateur divisions. Teams have already been selected. Obviously we couldn't accomodate everyone but spectators are more than welcome. Figtree Juniors will be opening their canteen for the evening and I'm sure Webby Snr. would love a good crowd. Please pass the word around to anyone who has had the opportunity of playing with or against this "senior" in case they would like to come and see him go around as he hits the 70. There may even be some curious folk as to how a man does it at that age... When: Wednesday June 30th Where: Harry Graham Park, Figtree Time: 7pm kick off |

All Wollongong & Shellharbour council grounds are closed for weekend so Round 11 games have been postponed Rd 11 will be played on Sunday 20th June 1pm - Figtree FC Fire vs Bumble Bees 3pm - Figtree FC Titans vs Shellharbour City Ground - Harry Graham Park Sunday 4th July 3pm - Albion Park Cows vs Figtree FC Heat Ground - Terry Reserve |

Figtree Soccer Club is proposing to hold a working bee this Sunday, 25th April, 8am - Midday We understand that this is ANZAC Day, but it also one of the very few Sundays, if any, where there are no games scheduled at Harry Graham Park.
The main aim is to cut some paths down to the creek through the lantana. Equipment needed for the day is: - Machetes
- Lopping shears
- Gloves
- Shovels
- Mattocks
It would really help if any volunteers could advise via the club email address if they are able to assist. End of the day this will assist all teams in retrieving balls from the creek. |

Hopefully everyone is now paid up or has at least sorted something out with their team manager. Socks & shorts should have been issued to all new players that have paid their registration. If for some reason you have been given shorts & socks and not yet paid, please do so ASAP. Also even though everyone should have a hard copy of the draw, please keep checking here (on the right) or the IAFA webpage, regularly in case of changes. |

Working Bee - This Weekend |
|
|
|
|
As part of our pre-season tasks, Figtree Soccer Club is holding a working bee on the following day at the Clubhouse and grounds. It is expected that as part of the Mens teams you help out around the club. If we can't help out, our Fees will ultimately go up to cover additional ground maintenance. Date: 20th March 2010 Time: 8am - 2pm Bring: Mower and whipper snipper, gloves
It is primarily for marking the lines and to mow and edge around the ground perimeter. We will also maybe be looking at some general maintenance of grounds and buildings. If you are able to spare some time on this day, it would really help our club. Please remember we are a club that survive through our volunteers.

The adventures of Nugget and his mystical journey through the lands of registrations is now at an end. Should any further players require registration they need to contact the team representative for the appropriate forms and arrange payment. - Div 2 - Webby
- Div 3 - Aaron
- Masters - Wilson
