News at hand is that the Illawarra Amateurs will have 7 divisions next year, 4 open divisions, 2 over 35's and one over 40's.
In a bid to not come up against ridiculously strong over 40 teams, we have placed 2 teams in the over 35's, one in division 1 and the other in division 2. Our 2 open age teams are in division 3 (relegated from division2) and division 4 (relegated from division 3).
Hopefully things will fair better for Figtree in 2012.

Just to let you all know that Figtree FC will again be entering 4 teams in the 2012 Football South Coast Amateurs Competition.
There will be
2 teams applying for Div 3 and
2 teams applying for Over 35's.
There is hope that the FSCA will form 3 divisions of Over 35's and reintroduce the promotion/relegation for old farts.
Come registration time, preference will be given to players that are coaches, parents or past players of Figtree Junior Soccer Club. Attendance at pre-season kick-arounds may also be taken into consideration.

This weekend will see all 4 Figtree teams play their last game, some in double headers.
As mentioned before, one of our major "sponsors" is Wollongong RSL Bowling Club (see banner above). It is only fitting that we see off the season by having a few beers after the game down at the club.
Everyone must wear their Figtree FC club shirt and everyone must attend (notes from wives accepted). We'll start at 6pm and you can either stay for 1 or stay for many, but be sure to at least stick your head in so we can show our major "sponsor" that they have our support.

Most council grounds have been closed for the weekend so some games may be postponed. Best bet is to check the Wollongong City council Grounds (done by clicking on the Ground Status sign on the left). SATURDAY'S games will go ahead. The catch-up games scheduled for SUNDAY have been postponed due to the uncertainty with most council grounds. |
|
Okay, so it's a bit belated, but this seasons polos have arrived and are required to be handed out to the new players, so what better way than to have a season launch... Saturday 21st May Wollongong RSL Bowling Club (next to Westfield, Figtree) 6.30pm onwards Those who already have club polo shirts will be required to wear them. Partners and children are welcome. Let's get numbers there and impress the major sponsor so that in 2012, we'll get more!!! |

|
Wollongong Council are yet to put up many goalposts around the Illawarra and so Round 1 has been postponed until the end of the season. With that in mind Figtree FC will still be hosting games as below: 1pm - O'35's vs O'40's 3pm - Div 2 vs Div 3 However, HGP fields are still yet to be marked so if you can get down early (from 9am) to help out it would be appreciated. Hopefully we can put out full teams to see where each of them stand. Socks will be available but please don't expect the managers to chase some up for you at the last minute. Suggest bringing your own shorts. Any problems, contact your team managers |

Wednesday 23rd, 6pm @ Roy Johannson Park. This will be the last kick around before the season proper commences so it is imperative that ALL season 2011 players turn up, even if its to simply show your face. |
